Hotel offers a women-only package

HIGH-LIFE FOR THE LADIES: The Raffles Inc Lounge where guests who take up the Tai Tai package will have their breakfast and evening cocktails.
THE guys don't get it.
First, it was the women-only pink carpark lots set up by Furama RiverFront Hotel for its guests.
Now, another hotel has launched special women-only hotel rooms. At the Fairmont Singapore, only women can book its 'Tai Tai Life for a Day' package.
Women who take up this package will have a one-night stay at a Raffles Deluxe Room, a one-hour relaxation massage for two at the Willow Stream Spa, high tea buffet at Plaza Market Cafe and breakfast and evening cocktails in the Raffles Lounge.
Those who take up this package can also choose to take a tennis lesson or have a private yoga session.
Director of Rooms at Fairmont Singapore Francis Desjardins said: 'Many women book rooms and massages at our hotel every day. So, we thought of bringing these elements together and giving them a fun package that is good value for money.'
The package normally costs more than $1,300, but the hotel is offering it at $620++ per room per night.
Mr Desjardins said: 'We are not just targeting tai-tais with this package, but other women who want to experience a day in the life of a tai-tai.'
So far, the response for the package has been 'encouraging'. He didn't reveal figures.
'With this package, locals who might spend their weekend in Bangkok or Hong Kong might decide to save on the flight and spend a nice weekend getaway here,' he added.
Social worker Yang Kaiqi, 25, feels that this is a good marketing strategy, as women are 'more willing to spend money to pamper themselves'.
She added: 'The idea is a little sexist, but men do not go for spa treatments. Perhaps it is only the metrosexual guys who would feel left out.'
Others want more things done for women guests.
Miss Tan Wenfang, 24, an engineer, felt that the package would do better if it offered limousine services and make-overs, instead of the exercise sessions.
She said: 'When tai-tais go shopping, salespeople would probably wait on them hand and foot. If we could experience that once, it would be great.'
Agreeing, human resources executive Pamela Seet, 24, said: 'If it's supposed to be a pampering session, I'd rather look pretty and have dinner at a posh restaurant with my friends, rather than sweat it out.'
In case the men feel 'left out', MrDesjardins said they will also launch a package for men later.
