I got the joke but I've recently been diagnosed with hearing loss, so I can't laugh at it. Does anyone also have this problem? How did you accept it?

It takes a lot of time to adjust to things like that. Sorry to hear that , man.
In one point of my life i honestly believed that i have hearing problem, until one day i visited ear wax removal doctor and he properly cleaned my ears. Turned out to be a specific of my body - earwax builds up very quickly and of course i have some difficulties heating at those times.

Just use a hearing aid. You can now shut off naggings. Probably a body self defence mechanism to get you to live longer.
