They beat China, North Korea and Japan. For semi final against North Korea, after extended time (1 - 1), penalty kicks they won 4-2. In final, they beat Japan also by penalty kick after a draw of (1-1), by 4-2.

Yes, they do have quite a number of PRC footballers. But at least they perform better than Singapore's foreign talents, I guess. Having a draw on Japan itself is a very good result. And you don't really feel that they are full of FT because basically they PRCs look pretty much like any Hong Kongers.

東亞運足球決賽，香港與日本 兩隊加時後仍維持各一平手，須射十二碼決勝，香港憑十二碼以四比二獲勝。

整場比賽，日本球隊平均技術稍佳，但主隊勝在努力，有戰意，有球迷支持，兩隊攻守互見。在法定時間上半場22分鐘，日本的村松大輔近門射入先開紀錄；下半場約一分鐘，遠道由英國 返港的陳肇麒近門頂入，追成一比一平手，其後兩隊無增添紀錄。在加時的三十分鐘，兩隊亦無紀錄，需要射十二碼決勝。

香港隊先射，但首名球員即告不入，日本隊員射入，但其後日本第二和第三名球均不入，香港連再入四球，十二碼以四比二擊敗日本，總比分是五比三。

香港是歷史性打入東亞運決賽，兩萬張公開發售門券已售清，大批球迷很早入場。

可容納4萬球迷的大球場，今午2時先上演韓國 對朝鮮的季軍戰，香港對日本的決賽於5時舉行。昨晚2萬公眾門票全告售罄。由於馬會購入1.65萬張教育門票，政府為確保物盡其用，昨特別致電獲發門票的學校查詢，結果全部都表示會入場。

部分球迷中午前排隊等入場，希望霸好位，不少人都穿上代表港隊的紅衣為港隊打氣。

到英英跟英超球會熱刺 球會操練的陳肇麒中午專程返港，為港隊上陣。

大球場下午2時先上演的東亞運足球銅牌戰賽事，韓國和朝鮮在法定時間和加時以一比一打和，互射十二碼韓國勝四比二，以總分五比三奪得銅牌。

Politics is like soccer, when the opposition is scoring, they get accused of using non-regulation soccer balls, the striker used his hands; they suddenly change the goal post size & the refree is always "Kayu".

Then accuse one of the players in the team, for not properly filing transfer papers & get the entire team disqualified, giving the opponents the match.

Even when the opposition won, they accuse the team for fielding a player witha bionic leg, and disqualify the score, & award the points to the opponents.

So, politics is just as interesting as watching a soccer match..only difference is that, those wathcing & cheering the oppoistion match in droves...always bet on the opposite side...
