HK star Andy Lau in town to promote Shaolin
KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau showed up to meet fans at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping mall to promote his new movie Shaolin.
Lau hasn’t been here for an official event since his solo concert in 2005, but caused a stir two years ago when he attended the funeral of the father of his then-rumoured but yet to be confirmed Malaysian wife Carol Chu.
He has since come clean about the relationship and cheerfully fended off questions about the topic at a press conference yesterday, quipping, “You can consider me a fellow countryman now, why do you still need to ask me about all this?”

Lau also had good news for his Malaysian fans as he is planning to stage a concert here sometime next year.
“I will be too busy this year with filming, but I think I will come here for a concert next year,” he said.
Lau, who was accompanied by the movie’s director Benny Chan, stars in the remake of the 1981 classic movie Shaolin (which starred Jet Li) as a ruthless warlord who is forced to take refuge in the Shaolin Temple when tragedy befalls his family.
The movie also features Nicholas Tse and Jackie Chan, and will be released on Jan 27.
