昨晚(23日)10時29分，將軍澳善明邨善禮樓，保安員報案指一對母子反鎖在單位內，消防到場破門入屋，赫見一名年約20歲男子當場死亡，其50餘歲母親仍然清醒，由救護車送往將軍澳醫院搶救。警方將現場封鎖調查，案件暫列作企圖自殺，交由將軍澳區重案組跟進。
今晨(24日)8時許，死者遺體由仵工舁送殮房，等候剖驗以確定死因，探員在單位內檢走多袋證物，包括棉被等。3名男女探員其後到醫院調查，逗留約一個半小時後離開，未有檢走證物。探員沒有透露案情，只表示：「有啲尷尬喎，呢單嘢(案)」。
區議員方國珊得悉事件，今早(24日)到達善禮樓現場，她指昨晚(23日)10時許，56歲姓趙女事主，獨自走落大堂向當值保安員求助，保安員見她迷迷糊糊，於是報警，救護員到場時，趙婦再透露其姓黎(22歲)兒子在單位內，於是召來消防破門進入單位，並發現其兒子昏迷在單位內，經檢驗後證實已死亡，警方相信兩人曾一同服藥。方表示涉案母子為單親家庭，兩人由屋邨入伙已遷入，姓趙女事主間中會到其辦事處做義工，協助街坊，方對此感到惋惜。

Last night (23rd) at 10:29, Shanli Building, Shanming Village, Tseung Kwan O, security guard reported that a pair of mother and child were locked in the unit. The fire broke into the house and saw a 20-year-old man died on the spot. The mother of 50 years old is still awake and sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for ambulance rescue. The police will block the investigation on the scene and the case will be temporarily suicide attempted and will be handed over to the District Crime Squad of Tseung Kwan O.
At 8 o'clock this morning (24th), the body of the deceased was sent to the mortuary by the employee, waiting for the examination to determine the cause of death. The agent checked out many bags of evidence, including quilts, in the unit. Three male and female agents then went to the hospital for investigation and left after about one and a half hours of stay. No evidence was found. The detective did not disclose the facts of the case. He only said: "There is nothing wrong with it."
District Councilor Fang Guoshan was informed of the incident. She arrived at the Shanli Building site this morning (24th). She said that at 10 o'clock last night (23rd), the 56-year-old surnamed Zhao, the victim, went to the lobby alone and turned to the security guard for help. The staff saw her stupid, so the police, the ambulanceman was on the scene, Zhao woman revealed that her son Li (22 years old) was in the unit, so he called the fire to break into the unit and found his son stunned in the unit. After the test, it was confirmed that he had died. The police believed that the two had taken the medicine together. Fang said that the mother and child involved in the case are single-parent families, and the two have been moved in from the housing estate. The surname of Zhao’s daughter-in-law will go to his office to volunteer and assist the neighbourhood.
