I read about this yesterday in the news online:
A protester kneel kowtow to apologise to family of HK mata inspector Lau who accidentally fell dead while trying to get that protester off a dangerously high bridge. The protester was a truck driver who ferries chicks (newly hatched from eggs) for living. The HK govt revoked his truck license for some health / environmental reasons, without any compensation. So he became unemployed. He demanded to see the senior officer who refused to see him, so he angrily protested by climbing up a very high bridge and threatened to jump if this officer still refuse to see him. This mata inspector was on duty there, 49 years old already he tried to climb up the same height but slippery and he fell dead on the spot. :( Now the public accused the senior officer who insisted to avoid meeting the truck driver, and said if he just would agree to talk to the driver, the driver would had came down the bridge already and save killing one mata for this.
Today a hundred mata came for this funeral memorial.

警署警長劉志堅前日執勤時失足墮橋殉職，其家屬及逾百同僚昨到出事的中環干諾道中行人天橋拜祭，劉妻難掩哀傷不時飲泣，同僚致祭時則齊呼「阿堅，收工喇！」，向他最後道別。此外，警方表示警隊除了會向劉志堅家屬提供適當協助外，政府亦會向家屬發放死亡恩恤金，亦會按《僱員補償條例》作出補償。但警方未有說明金額。
拜祭儀式於昨午約12時開始，殉職警員劉志堅的妻子及胞妹等7名家屬，在行人天橋地上燒香和擺放祭品，眾人神情哀傷，死者妻子及胞妹更不時拭淚，並呼叫﹕「返嚟喇！」
政府發放恩恤 金額未明
之後過百名同僚分批燒香致祭。前日向記者講述事發經過時哽咽的署理中區指揮官羅卓洪，昨日獻上鮮花致意，眾同僚則呼叫﹕「阿堅，收工喇！」儀式歷時約半小時，現場天橋部分路面一度需要封閉。
事發前日早上，雞苗貨車司機劉玉棠在天橋頂示威，抗議政府收雞牌後未有向他賠償，49歲的警署警長劉志堅爬上天橋頂處理時失足墮橋身亡。劉玉棠昨日表示心情仍未平復，不願多談事件。
據悉，劉志堅生前工作非常投入及盡忠職守。他並有一名同年出生兄長，亦是在警隊工作，職位較劉志堅高，在東九龍衝鋒隊任職總督察。出事前，劉志堅剛調往中區刑偵部門個多月，之前駐守東區重案組，09年初曾調查東區醫院嬰屍遺失案，警方出動大批人員，在將軍澳堆填區蒐證及尋找嬰屍。
