發生粉塵爆炸的浸大活動室，地上遺下蛋糕、拖鞋以及散滿麵粉。
【星島日報報道】浸大生潑撒四袋麵粉慶生變災難，粉塵大爆炸釀十二傷。肇事四男八女浸大生，十八至二十三歲，分別手、腳及面部燒傷，當中有學生敷上防感染敷料，六女生送廣華醫院，另四男兩女則送伊利沙伯醫院，現時仍有一男三女留醫院，均情況穩定。
滿身粉末 手面腳燒傷
現場為浸會大學南座偉倫樓宿舍十二樓，昨凌晨約一時，二十多名不同年級學系的男女同學，相約到活動室，為當中四至五名「十一月之星」慶生，檯上放置生日蛋糕，並插上蠟燭，洋溢歡樂氣氛。
消息稱，有人突向同窗互撒至少四袋麵粉，疑蠟燭火舌燒著發生粉塵大爆炸，部分人走避不及同被灼傷，警方與消防接報到場撲救，當中十二名學生同被燒傷一至二級，六輛救護車亦抵達現場，消防與救護員為傷者救援。
現場所見，出事活動室遺下蛋糕及滿布白色粉末，部分傷者面、身、衣物及頭髮均沾有麵粉，有傷者面部敷上防感染敷料，亦有手或腳用保鮮紙包裹，更有傷者赤腳送院，其中一男傷者其後轉送沙田威爾斯醫院。
早上約十一時，消防處派出一輛消防「社區應急準備課」安全教育巴士，到達浸會大學道，多名消防員向同學派發防止火警的宣傳單張。消防員又到南座偉倫樓學生宿舍地下，於入口位置放下一疊單張，供同學自行取閱。
浸會大學舍監麥勁生承認，玩麵粉雖不是傳統活動，但過往有不少學生玩過，他相信學生知道大學火警條例，與在公共地方的安全守則，形容意外是不幸事件，「年輕人過咗少少線」，日後會加緊執行相關規條，包括禁止玩麵粉。
錢大康：校方經援學生
浸大副校長麥建成事後向師生發電郵，指對事故感到憂傷，大學十分關注受傷學生的情況，會繼續為受傷學生及其家人提供支援，希望受傷學生早日康復，並會盡一切努力調查事故起因，防止同類事件再次發生。
傍晚六時許，浸大校長錢大康在麥建成陪同，先後往三所醫院探望四名學生，錢表示四人灼傷一至二級，其中威爾斯醫院男生較嚴重，手腳約近兩成皮膚燒傷，四名學生仍然清醒，家人已陪伴在側，他又着傷者毋須擔心考試或醫療費用，學校會作出經濟支援及提供功課與考試。
教育局發言人指出，局方已透過校方向同學轉達教育局局長對學生的關心和慰問，祝願傷者早日康復。教育局得悉浸大正跟進事件，為同學提供支援，防止類似意外再度發生，並會與浸大保持溝通。

浸大教職員傍晚探病時間前往慰問
【星島日報報道】浸會大學九龍塘學生宿舍偉倫樓，凌晨發生二級火警，有學生在慶祝生日期間懷疑潑麵粉，因生日蠟燭未熄而引發塵爆，12名學生燒傷，分別送往3間醫院治理。火警中仍有4名學生留院，全部傷者均無生命危險。
傍晚浸大校長錢大康及副校前往沙田威爾斯親王醫院，錢大康其後7時轉到伊院，7時半左右離開。錢大康指，1人在威院留醫，男傷者較嚴重，男傷者約19%皮膚燒傷，其家人已前往探望，部分友人亦有到場。
2人在伊院治理，包括傷勢第二嚴重的同學，身體有10%皮膚燒傷。還有1人在廣華醫院治理。錢大康指，自己與傷者對話過對方都有說有笑，但皮膚始終都會痛，相信應該要做物理治療。
他已與校内教授商討，勸諭學生無需擔心考試、學業成績、習作期限等，最重要照顧身體，康復後出院才慢慢追回習作。
錢大康指，學校容許學生玩樂，但規則指明不可以玩火，日後將有不同措拖提升學生安全意識。傍晚浸大有教職員前往伊利沙伯醫院燒傷護理病房， 並送上果籃探訪燒傷學生。下午近3時，有一男一女職員前往伊利沙伯醫院探望受傷學生，但由於探病時間為下午5時至晚上8時，在病房外未能入内。

另外，浸大學生會向校方了解，稱校方會就事件向有需要學生提供財政支援，包括協助處理保險事宜，亦會為有需要同學提供心理輔導。校方暫時不會就事件採取紀律程序行動，指處理學生情況先為首要。
