周日（13日）晚上9時許，警員巡經旺角彌敦道與太子道西交界旺角警署對開時，發現兩名同樣17歲的巴基斯坦裔少年形跡可疑，遂上前截查，即場於其中一人身上檢獲一副鐵蓮花，有人疑心虛發難，突以鐵蓮花襲擊一名男警，其同黨見狀亦揮拳打傷另一名男警，姓袁（38歲）男途人見狀立即上前制止，兩名少年最終被合力制服。
事後以鐵蓮花施襲的少年涉嫌「藏有違禁武器」、「襲警」及「拒捕」被捕；同黨則涉嫌「襲警」及「阻礙警務人員執行職務」被捕，前者亦報稱手、腳受傷，與兩名遇襲男警同被送往廣華醫院治理；至於姓袁熱心途人亦不適送院。案件交由旺角警區刑事調查隊跟進。

事發在昨晚9時許，兩名警員巡經旺角彌敦道與太子道西交界時，發現兩名17歲的巴基斯坦籍男子形迹可疑，於是上前截查。警員在其中一人身上檢獲一副鐵蓮花，期間對方突然發難，奪回鐵蓮花並襲擊警員，其同伴亦出手向另一警員施襲。期間一名38歲姓袁男途人見狀，上前協助警員制服兩人。
警方經初步調查，以嫌藏有違禁武器、襲警及拒捕，拘捕身藏鐵蓮花的男子，其同伴則涉嫌襲警和阻礙警務人員執行職務被捕。兩名遇襲警員及身藏鐵蓮花的男子手腳受傷，連同不適的男途人一同送院治理。
