A hit-and-run driver who drove under suspension was jailed six months and banned from driving for seven years for causing the death of a cyclist and other offences.
Part-time driver Patrick Parthipan Nadarajan, 44, was driving a van along Keng Lee Road towards Bukit Timah Road on Feb 12 last year when he hit cyclist Tham Poh Yau, 58. Tham was pronounced dead shortly.
The court heard earlier that Parthipan had stopped his van near the junction of Hertford Road further ahead and walked back to look at the deceased before driving off.
Two bus passengers saw what had happened and noticed that the front windscreen of the van was shattered when they walked past it.
