The fundamentalist Christians in the American South are as fanatical and as ready to take up arms for their cause as the fundamentalist Muslims in the Middle East. Most of the assassination attempts, racist lynchings and mass shootings are by this group of people. They're a bloody disgrace to the true teachings of Jesus ('turn the other cheek', 'love thy brother as thyself', 'do unto others as you would have others do unto you').

That's why the Abrahamic religions are so fucked up - when you swear by your God and holy book as the only absolute truth in this world, it breeds intolerance and fanaticism in your followers, leading to terrorism, war and genocide.
