Two French luxury houses, Hermes and Louis Vuitton, have unveiled duplex flagship stores at Hong Kong International Airport.
The facade of the refurbished Hermes store features “graphic sculptured brown blades with an anodised panel that reflects all movements in the surroundings”. The overall layout on the lower floor remains majorly unchanged, the flagship added the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear areas and a private lounge, which takes over the upper floor.
“The artist invented a poetic diorama of an imaginative Birdland populated by white woods and spinning pinwheels,” Hermes described.
The opening of the Louis Vuitton flagship was planned two years ago.
Hong Kong International Airport also saw the addition of a new Chanel store this week. Other luxury brands including Burberry, Cartier, Gucci, Omega, Prada and Tiffany & Co have also reopened their stores at the airport and cross-border travel resumes after the Covid-driven travel restrictions.
