Held — man who wanted kids to commit suicide

A MAN asked his 10-year-old son and six-year-old daughter to lie down on a railway track with him and commit suicide after a quarrel with his wife in Kampung Tong Hai in Nibong Tebal on Saturday night, reported Malaysia Nanban.
Villagers who saw the man and the two children on the tracks, however, rescued the children. The man rode off in his motorcycle. South Seberang Perai OCPD Supt Suffian Mamat said the children were later taken to the police station where the man appeared demanding that the children be handed over to him.
There, another quarrel ensued between him and his wife and when he pulled his daughter’s hand, she suffered a sprained wrist. The girl was taken to the Sungai Bakap Hospital for treatment and the man was detained by police.
