Tributes are being paid to an 'amazing, funny, irreplaceable' mum who died after being taken ill at a dance music festival.
Stephanie Thorpe, 32, from Bolton, died in hospital after she collapsed at the Restricted Forest Festival in Blackburn.
Family and friends are now rallying round to support her family as a GoFundMe appeal has been launched. Stephanie leaves partner, Carl, and their baby boy, Alfie. A celebration of her life was held at St Gregory's Social Club in Farnworth, Bolton.
The fundraiser has been set up for 'our amazing girl Steph' to give her the send-off she deserves. Set up by close friend Holly McLaughlin on behalf of the family, it didn't take long for it to exceed the £10,000 limit set and has now smashed the £15,000 mark, reports Lancs Live.
Holly said in the appeal: "On behalf of Steph's family and at their request, I've set up this GoFundMe page not to only help with funeral costs to give our beautiful Steph the best send-off she deserves, but to also help her partner Carl and baby boy Alfie at this awful, devastating time.
"On June 25, our amazing, funny, irreplaceable, gorgeous girl's life was taken away from us so suddenly, we all as family and friends, even the community, are all so deeply devastated as you can imagine. She has left so many holes in everyone’s hearts right now.
"We want to give her the biggest send-off and obviously that comes at a great cost, we all right now would appreciate anything, as a penny would help us achieve this goal. I know we can all do this together!
"This world will not be the same without her - she was the life and soul of everyone's life."
Stephanie was pronounced dead at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday, June 25, following the festival held at Blackburn's Witton Park the day before. Lancashire Police attended the hospital at 3.30pm after receiving reports of a sudden death.
The force confirmed Stephanie's death was not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called to Royal Blackburn Hospital at 3.30pm on June 25 to reports of a sudden death. It was reported that the previous day a woman had become ill at a music festival in Blackburn and after receiving medical attention, had been taken to hospital where she sadly died.
"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course." No further details have been revealed. To donate, click here.
