HDB has its own gated community

I just realized some of the HDB point blocks are gated. The lobby is gated with key card access and intercom system for visitors, especially food delivery. It's an excellent idea, but so far they are only available in some point blocks, and not all point blocks.

I hope it can be extended to all HDB properties and that will do a lot to prevent unsolicited visits from salesman and flyer dumpsters.

You can look at it from another perspective: snobbish and anti-social people live in gated communities, their little 'safe space' in an urban shithole.

If splendid isolation is what you fancy, Sentosa Cove is the best gated community. Even the sea bridges have a sliding gate.
