I share Ms Nilanjana Sengupta's views expressed in The Ex-pat Files column last Sunday, 'Never a dull moment'.
It truly reflects her positive attitude in everything she sees, unlike many Singaporeans who are just the opposite, and tend to complain too much.
This is not something that we are proud of. I wish more locals were like the writer - focusing more on the positive things.
Some Singaporeans are fearful of foreign talent because they think they cannot compete with these foreigners based on pay, skills and knowledge.
I believe this is not the case, as besides pay, skills and knowledge, there are other factors that employers consider before deciding who to hire. Moreover, local talent have the home advantage.
The Government as well as the bosses know what they are doing. They are unlikely to destabilise Singapore by having more foreign talent than what is needed.
These foreign talent will, without doubt, make Singapore more vibrant.
Singaporeans should have no fear of foreign talent if they keep upgrading their own skills and knowledge, and think out of the box to help their organisations improve their productivity.
In a nutshell, I believe that having more foreign talent will do Singapore more good than harm.
