WHATEVER the results of the general election, the People's Action Party will have to take a very hard look at itself and review the way it governs, said Mr George Yeo.
The Foreign Minister observed that the run-up to Saturday's polls has surfaced a level of anger and resentment towards the government and the PAP, which he said cannot be ignored.
And if elected, Mr Yeo, who leads the PAP team in the fiercely-battled Aljunied GRC, pledged that he and his team-mates would be 'advocates of reform' within the party, the government and the Cabinet.
In an interview with The Straits Times and Chinese-language daily Lianhe Zaobao on Thursday morning, Mr Yeo, whose team is facing off the Workers' Party 'A' slate led by Mr Low Thia Khiang, acknowledged that 'there is considerable resentment against the government and its policies, and some of them run deep'.
It is this emotional undertone that the WP team in Aljunied GRC has managed to tap into, he thinks. 'In that regard, the WP provides a loudspeaker for those who are frustrated, resentful and angry,' said Mr Yeo.

It just goes to show that the PAP elites are living in their ivory towers & have lost touch with the people if they only realised the strong anger & resentment now.

The Government made so many mistakes & still dare to reward themselves with 8 months' bonuses when many people are struggling just to have 3 square meals a day, not at some fancy restaurants but simple home-cooked or hawker food.
