Samsung Galaxy Fold 評測機大規模出現故障引起熱烈討論，後來著名的拆機網站 iFixit 也從其渠道獲得機器進行拆解，揭示了這款可折疊螢幕手機的內部構造非常複雜，甚至可能會因此造成損壞。然而這拆機報告在發出之後，就被 Samsung 官方要求下架。
在 iFixit 發出的聲明中，向他們提供機器的合作方被 Samsung 施壓，要求把相關文章撤下。iFixit 明言他們並沒有任何義務和法律依據聽從要求，然而因為出於對合作方的尊重，所以暫時把文章下架，直至 Galaxy Fold 正式在零售市場上出現。
一般來說，iFixit 的拆機對象都是已經在零售渠道有售的產品，所以官方按理也沒有權力限制消費者如何對待自己的東西。不過這次的情況特殊，所以不難預料 Samsung 會對如此的文章有所動作。Samsung 已經把 Galaxy Fold 的推出時程推遲，所以再度上架的機器可能為了解決問題而用上不一樣的內部結構。
