A man has been filmed climbing on to the wing of a passenger
plane before takeoff, reportedly causing panic among passengers.
In dramatic footage taken from inside the aircraft the man is seen hauling himself up from the rim of the jet engine onto the wing of the
Boeing 737 plane and then walking towards the cabin.
The incident occurred on an Azman Air flight in
Lagos,
Nigeria. The aircraft was reportedly at a holding bay expecting clearance for take-off when the man was seen climbing onto the wing,
according to the News Agency of Nigeria (Nan).
The agency said it was not known how the man had apparently managed to “illegally” gain access to the aircraft, although the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos has suffered from problems with security in the past.
The man’s actions reportedly caused a panic and some of the passengers demanded the pilot and cabin crew open the aircraft doors for them to disembark due to safety concerns.

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)A man who climbed onto the wing of a plane as it prepared for takeoff at the airport in Nigeria's Lagos city has been arrested, authorities said.
The man, who has not been identified, walked towards the aircraft on the runway and was spotted by the pilot, who slowed down and later turned off the engine as the man continued to wander around the aircraft, Azman Air said in a statement.
He then jumped onto a wing of the plane and tried to access the cabin, the airline said. The pilot radioed the tarmac to report the incident, according to the airline.
The incident happened Friday morning at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed International airport in Lagos.

The man has been taken into custody and is being questioned, Nigeria's airport authority said in a statement.
The incident did not delay the flight that was headed to Port Harcourt in Nigeria's Niger Delta, however, passengers and crew members disembarked for another round of security checks, the airline said.

Man tries to get inside a plane by climbing on its wing
How many times have we seen in the movies, action stars like Akshay Kumar and Tom Cruise running towards a plane on an airport, chasing the bad guy and they somehow catch it and get on the plane? But this doesn't happen in real life, right?
However a Nigerian man almost attempeted to do the same thing, though there was no bad guy to catch, this unusual incident included this aforementioned man climbing onto an aircraft's wing that was ready to take off as he tried to enter the plane's cabin.
The incident took place with an Azman plane on July 19, 2019, at the domestic section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria.
One of the passenger from the plane shared videos from the incident on his Instagram account and gave details of what was happening. He captioned the videos, "Guys this is an emergency. For 30 minutes we have been stuck at the runway at MMIA by an unidentified man who ran to the aircraft with a bag."
He added, "Security has not showed up and everyone is panicking. I have so many questions to ask but right now I can't even breathe. Pls share this to all relevant authorities."
He later gave an update, "Dear Nigeria! Update: He has finally been apprehended and we've all disembarked from the flight. FAAN authorities showed up 23 minutes into the scene but were scared to approach him. Security eventually shows up after 37mins."
He added, "How it happened!! So our flight was taxing on the runway and about taking off when this man shows up running towards the moving aircraft from the bush. The pilot and a few passengers spotted him running towards the aircraft and the pilot immediately slowed down and quickly put off the engine."
"The guy approaches the plane with gloves and starts walking around and under the aircraft holding a bag which he dropped inside the engine. Thanks to the Pilot of the Azman Airline for quickly observing and taking swift action. I still have a million and one questions to ask cos anything could have gone wrong! Nigeria will work perfectly someday. This I know," finally he wrote.
The man was caught by the airport security and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) later released a statement on their official Twitter account where they identified the man as Usman Adamu. However, the reason behind him taking such an action is still unclear.
FAAN also said, "FAAN views this breach as a serious security concern and has commenced [an] investigation to ascertain the remote and immediate causes of this incident to forestall future occurrence.
