綜合外媒報導，這起死亡意外發生於本月21日，當天象牙海岸舉辦1場舞蹈競賽，一名暱稱為「Internet Japonais」的年輕男舞者也前往報名，從曝光影片中可見，這名男舞者一開始後空翻時故意倒下，接著立刻彈起繼續表演，未料再次挑戰後空翻時，疑似因起跳高度過低，竟導致頭部90度著地，頸部還呈現詭異角度。

圍觀群眾原本以為這也是表演橋段，直到發現男舞者倒地後毫無反應，才急忙衝上前查看，並驚覺男舞者早已死亡。該名男舞者的友人透露，他生前對舞蹈相當熱衷，未料如今也因最喜愛的運動而喪命。
