Passengers aboard a North East Line (NEL) train were given a brief scare on Sunday (5 November) afternoon when the window of one of its carriages suddenly cracked while the train was in motion.
The incident allegedly took place at about 2.30pm while the train was travelling between the Little India and Dhoby Ghaut stations.
Civil servant Ng Ko-Vin said he was on the train when he “heard a loud sound like a gunshot”.
“I looked over and saw that a glass panel had cracked. The passengers quickly retreated from the affected carriage until it was empty, but some of us came back after a while,” said the 37-year-old.
Yahoo News Singapore has reached out to SBS Transit, which operates the NEL, for more information.
