Police Inspector Raped Malaysian Teenager While Investigating Sexual Assault Committed By Stepfather

On 31 Dec, a 16-year-old Malaysian teenager filed a report against a police inspector, alleging he raped her in his office.
The incident occurred while she was following up on an investigation against her stepfather for rape as well.
Malaysian authorities have placed the inspector under arrest, confirming that an investigation into the case is ongoing.

According to The New Straits Times (NST), the assault was said to have occurred at a District Police Headquarters (IPD) near Alor Setar, Kedah, at around 6.30pm on 28 Dec.
Sources said the 34-year-old suspect called the victim to the headquarters to assist in an investigation into her stepfather’s sexual assault against her. He was the investigating officer for the case.
In the room, he informed her that he wanted to examine her private parts. The inspector then asked her to lie down on a bed while naked and raped her.
Despite being afraid, the victim was unable to do anything, sources told NST.
He justified his assault by claiming the tool for checking her was not functioning properly.
She claimed that the assault went on for nearly 30 minutes, after which the inspector told her to put her clothes on.
He also said the investigation was not complete yet, and she would have to return for further enquiries.
Investigation into assault ongoing
Harian Metro reports that the victim, a school drop-out, stepped forward to file a report against the inspector three days after the assault.
She was then conveyed to the hospital for examination.
A police team from the forensic unit found traces of what they believed to be semen on the sheets and pillowcases at the scene of the crime.
Inspector General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani confirmed that a report was made, and the officer was arrested.
However, he declined to comment further as the investigation into the assault was still ongoing.
In a separate report, NST revealed that the inspector denied committing the assault during interrogation.
