Guard admits to raping underage daughter

A security guard at the Wang Kelian duty free complex in Kangar has pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court to raping his 12-year-old daughter last month. He committed the crime at a teakwood farm at Felcra Lubuk Sireh on Nov 22.
The 38-year-old father, who was unrepresented, expressed remorse. "I repent. I will raise my daughter in accordance to the true teachings of Islam, " he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
He was denied bail and was ordered to be imprisoned pending sentencing. According to the police file, the man was arrested on Nov 23 following a report lodged at the Padang Besar police station by the girl, who was accompanied by her grandmother.
The girl had earlier complained to her grandmother of pain in her private parts. Judge Wan Norzannuar Wan Ahmad has set Jan 11 for sentencing.
