i think its not very accurate to split the demographics of the regions based on their age/ generation. though there may be distinct pockets of pro-PAP generation residing in distinct areas, from west to east, north to south, there spread of old folks & young citizens r relatively evenly spread.

if we observe the way ppl have voted, the majority is quite inclined to vote based on personal vested interests, ie: municipal upgrading, securities (linked to their jobs), fear factor etc. the sad part is, that many r still quite myopic & forgot to see the bigger picture of what is needed in parliament, to have profound appreciation and/or scrutiny of policies, before rolled out to affect all our lives.

what we see in the recent GE is quite encouraging, bcos the younger generation have taken a little more interest on what's to become of the future for the island. slowly but surely, more may take on an active role, instead of suffering the stigma of being a closet opposition supporters.

We cannot change Singaporean voted for their personal vested interests, ie: municipal upgrading, securities (linked to their jobs), fear factor etc. the sad part is, that many r still quite myopic & forgot to see the bigger picture of what is needed in parliament, to have profound appreciation and/or scrutiny of policies, before rolled out to affect all our lives.

Singaporean are more practical for their personal vested interests because their born in the 6 million people city not a 5K people town. This is the fact of live.
