The arrested GROs being led into a police truck
A guest relations officer (GRO) went berserk when a police team raided a karaoke outlet in Gurney Drive, Penang.
The Chinese national tried to hurt herself by repeatedly hitting her forehead with a drinking glass before she was stopped by policemen and her friends.
Fourtunately, the woman, in her 20s, only suffered a cut on her right hand during the 12.15am raid on Saturday.
The enraged GRO even shouted vulgarities at pressmen who tried to take pictures of her.
She was arrested together with 12 other GROs for violating their social visit passes. All are from China except one from Uzbekistan.
An undisclosed amount of Ecstasy pills and Eramin 5 which were also recovered at the premises.
Some 20 patrons, in their 20s and 30s, had to undergo a urine test on the spot. Four of them tested positive for drugs.
A canine unit was even deployed to the scene to sniff out drugs.
