Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. In this case, it left the woman's husband scorched - and dead.
Believing that her husband Satish Narayan was seeing other women behind her back, an enraged Rajini Naraya has allegedly set her husband’s genitals on fire.
This occurred in Adelaide in December 2008 and the husband died several weeks later in hospital from severe burns, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The 44-year-old woman, who was in tears, pleaded not guilty Monday to murder as well as arson at the South Australian Supreme Court.
Three charges of endangering the lives of her children were dropped.
Here is her rationale about her act, as told to her neighbours: “I'm a jealous wife, his penis should belong to me.
“I just wanted to burn his penis so it belongs to me and no-one else.”
The mother of three was said to have poured methylated spirit on her husband's genitals and set them on fire. The blaze also destroyed her A$1mil (RM3mil) home in Unley.
Narayanan is out on bail and will appear in court again next month.
