Grandmother charged with heroin trafficking
KUALA TERENGGANU: A grandmother has been charged with drug trafficking at a magistrates court here. Harini Che Soh (pic), 43, from Rantau Panjang in Kelantan is accused of hiding 20 ampoules of heroin in her bra at a public toilet at the Kuala Terengganu bus terminal, last Thursday. The accused, who has four children and a grandchild, was charged under Section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, which carries the mandatory death upon conviction.
Harini was caught together with another 30-year-old single mother from Kuala Lumpur by police during a raid at 6am after suspecting something amiss when seeing their abnormal bust size. No plea was recorded when the charge was read to Harini before magistrate Wan Nor Aklima Wan Salleh.
The court set Aug 23 for the case to be heard. No bail was allowed.
