Choa Chu Kang Stadium so dark, patrons risk injuries
STOMPer Mr Lim feels that the poor lighting at Choa Chu Kang Stadium may cause joggers and other stadium users to injure themselves.
This STOMPer says:
"I frequently go for evening jogs at the Choa Chu Kang (CCK) Stadium after 6.30pm.
"However, I would like to feedback that the CCK stadium's interior lighting was so bad and so poor after 7pm.
"I observed that there were 4 towers lighting the stadium, but they only turned on 1 lamp each at the two towers. (I believe there are more than 10 lamps per tower.)
"The lights in the other two towers facing the terrace houses, were not turned on at all. (I believe it might be due to the residents from the terrace houses complaining).
"Visibility was so bad after 7pm. If anyone injured themselves due to poor visibility, would the S'pore Sports Council or CCK Stadium be responsible?
"Besides considering the residents' complaint of lighting focused at their houses, CCK Stadium should also not forget the safety and welfare of the many users who are using the stadium in the evening.
"Maybe they should consider increasing lighting at the two towers or enhancing track lighting near the stage area so as not to irritate the residents."
