Google 'Street View' - Even More Amazing And Secret Pictures

A few months ago, I received an email with a link to a street address in Australia on Google Maps. The link took me to the house where one of my cars is being garaged. To my amazement, when I zoomed in on the street view, I could see a full close-up of my car, number plate and all - I could even see that it could do with a wash!!

This is only the beginning as far as Google Maps is concerned - there are many websites and blogs posting some zany and even sometimes explicit pictures without the consent or knowledge of the people in the photos.

Google Maps...... a friend of mine was "caught" by his tech-savvy teenage son on google map making out with a PRC mei mei on his yacht @ southern islands.

you should ask google to see if they can track your mental illness. it would be nice to have an alert everytime you beat your son. after all, you were beaten yourself when you were young by your fat mother who you are hiding from in singapore.

Singapore doesn't have it yet. Australia has it because Google Australia decided to map it all out. It did raise a frenzy among privacy advocates though. There have been a few cases where people knew that the Google van was coming and decided to flash and/or moon their private bits..knowing it would be online.

Not that its a sight to behold btw. Some of these guys and gals aren't exactly Mr. Manhunt and Ms Universe material.

Take note, you heard it first from CNET Asia--Google's Street View is coming to Singapore. An eagle-eyed CNET Asia reader named Andrew sent us a picture of this silver Opel Astra complete with cameras doubling its height and the Google logo pasted on the side door. This was spotted at the junction between Dorset Road and Kampong Java Road.

We contacted Google, and the search giant confirmed that the service will be coming to Google Maps Singapore in the coming months. Street View launched in Japan earlier this year.

For those unfamiliar with Street View, this feature of Google Maps gives the user a photographic view of the location being searched. It has attracted controversy, with some residents of Street View-enabled cities complaining of loss of privacy. In some cases, men have been caught entering places like adult book stores, while others have been captured while inside their own private property. To address these concerns, Google will be blurring faces and license plate numbers before uploading the images.

Tools for users and authorities to report on images they are uncomfortable about will also be put in place, similar to what the company has done in the U.S., Australia, Japan, and France.

In any case, watch what you do or where you go, Singapore--Google is watching.

OK Downgrader - I've been ignoring your trolling for weeks now, but I think it's about time to set the record straight... I've done it before, but you've chosen to ignore it. I really couldn't give a shit if you like or hate me - that's your choice and it's a free world. But you should be honest with yourself and admit the real reason why.

It's not coz I've stolen yours or anyone else's job (the lie of which u've convinced yourself) - coz I haven't... I've got the same job that I had in Melbourne (and also Shanghai) - it's my job, not yours or anyone else's, it's MINE. I brought it here with me to SG... and since I've been here I've created more jobs and employed only SGpeans. I've slogged it out hard all my life from the 'bottom up' (for almost 2 decades) to develop the highly successful career I have now... if you suggest even for a moment that you have the experience and ability to do the job I do (which is MY job, not yours or anyone else's), or that you want to 'steal' it just coz now I now live in SG, then I think perhaps u're giving yourself way too much credit!! I have a global role, and SG is not the only country which I support (far from it).

My job and I are here coz I travel around the region so often - SG is so central, and generally full of good, caring people, and we really like it here. By living here I can be with my family more often... anyway, that's my problem, not yours (and quite frankly none of your business - but needed to set this straight).

So with that cleared up, you should admit to yourself the REAL reasons why you have so much hatred toward me - from your numerous other posts to me, I sugesst that it seems to be coz I have white skin (u've actually said that before)... like I said, I don't care that u feel this way coz it's your problem, not mine... but please be honest with yourself huh??
