'Differences of strategic vision is the best way to put it,' he said calmly in response to a question at an investors' conference in Hong Kong yesterday.
The comments came in Mr Goodyear's first public appearance since July when he walked out of the job to become the chief executive of Temasek less than six months after accepting the post.

If you pay me $28M as contractual exit compensation, I will tell you my first love is old man. And I will say it with passion.

After spending so much time and money recruiting him then they realised they have strategic differences. So what have they been doing during the process of recruiting him.
Most probably the recruiting team were enjoying themselves in Australia, staying in posh hotel and first class flying.

You have a valid point. At that level, the interviews will cover direction, strategy before confirmation. After all its an investment vehicle.

By the way breakdown occurred over reporting staff and changes. They were not agreeable to changes.

Temasick is truly screwed. They are in such a position today because there is no stategical differences, thus no change even when things are deadly wrong.

So what happen when someone with a different strategy who might turn the whole thing around? Kick him out.

Looks like Ho Jinx rather keep those donkeys that lost billions than to keep Chip.

To improve things in Temasek they have to do house cleaning by getting rid of all those old baggage like the old man, Ho Ching,...

No chance that will happen & so Temasek will continue to loose money. Temasek is not a sovereign fund but a chinese family business run by the clueless: a half senile, a tai tai,...

He breaks silence and says nothing at all.

But we all know his tongue is tied for the foreseeable future!

Donkeys are easier to maintain...just dangle carrots in front of them, and they will walk the talk...

Goodyear 'blimp' filled with helium...can sail high but slow....can burn faster, and takes all with it...

The better choice would be donkeys...:D

But where do their money cum from?

Can someone explain to me in plain simlple English what "differences in strategic vision" really means?

of course the problem is the pap dogs working there, revolt and force ang moh ceo out. also the no protest . no noise, no complain, no farce of sinkies toward ho ching , does not help.

it means Chip wants a management overhaul to let go the mickey mouse running the show so that Ho chin and LKY's croonies will be fired and disgraced and lose their big salaries and bonus.

Chippy paid $28m to leave? they said no compensation package was given!!wheres the source that he is paid? and lets not paint such a heroic pic of chip saying he wants to overhaul the system and save us sgreans' hard earned money!!! we never know unless someone tells the truth...

HoChin's only qualification is she is teh wife of lky's son, goes out and finds the most capable manager. A professional outsider joins the family business and is then kicked out. Do we need to spell it out for you?

Yes, but I thought they would have let known to chip during his "interview" that do not expect him to burn fast but sail at the present course.
I guess chip believes in accountability and those donkeys have to go.

Frankly, no one can take the position, reason is very simple, if Hojinx, the substandard person get around 3 millions in salary, as the creme de la creme financial guru get only
$500K will you take the job? also will pinky pay salary more than 5 times president of USA salary to employ the guy to do the job. Yes! the crony!!! the toxic is rooted.

If I pay you $28 million all you need to do is to bend down, lick my cock and smell and kiss my pubic hair over and over.

But are you worth that kind of money to do these simple tasks? You should be glad if I am even asking you to do it for free, because you have no value.
