MP Seng Han Thong recovering well

SINGAPORE: He had to spend Chinese New Year’s eve in hospital, but MP Seng Han Thong made sure his visitors got home in time to have reunion dinner with their own families.

Dr Chua Chee Lay, a friend of Mr Seng, recounted this when talking to TODAY about his visit to Mr Seng last Sunday afternoon.
"We had a good chat, for almost two hours," said Dr Chua before Mr Seng reminded him about going home for the reunion dinner.
Dr Chua who had first visited the MP at the Singapore General Hospital on Jan 19, said Mr Seng’s progress was very good.
The Chinese educator and newspaper columnist attributed this to Mr Seng’s positive attitude, and strong will to recover quickly.
"Mr Seng said his doctors have advised him he can now exercise his palm and fingers after the skin graft operation," he added.
The MP for Yio Chu Kang was set on fire by an ex—cabbie on Jan 11 during a constituency event. He suffered 14 per cent burns on his face, chest and arms.
Among the visitors received was Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew who saw Mr Seng five times in the hospital.
Vice—chairman of the People’s Action Party’s Yio Chu Kang branch, Mr George Tan, told TODAY grassroots leaders have also visited the MP during the Chinese New Year. — TODAY
