Siti Masyitah Ibrahim, the 11-year-old Pahang girl who was reported missing on 30 January has been found dead at an oil palm plantation at Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir, Pekan.
Her body was found in a horrific state — tied up, decapitated, with internal organs removed.
Even in such a condition, her mother, Zaleha Abdullah, 35, was able to positively identify her daughter because the deceased was found in the same blue dress she was wearing when she was last seen.
“It broke my heart to see the mutilated body of my daughter. Her hands and legs were tied, and her head was separated from her body. Some internal organs were missing.
“We searched for her in the same area eleven days ago, but she was not there,” Zaleha told
NST.
Siti Masyitah had gone missing on the evening of 30 January. She had requested for RM1 to get something from a nearby shop. She said she would return promptly, she never did.
With the help of villagers, they have been searching the area for her every single day since she had gone missing.
Described as a jovial child, Zaleha says,
“I prayed for her return… (so) it broke my heart to see her mutilated body yesterday. Who is the heartless person who did this to my child?”
One villager suspects that Siti Masyitah was killed somewhere else before her body was dumped at the location.
The victim’s body was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) for further examination.

KUANTAN: The tied-up, mutilated body of an 11-year-old girl was discovered by villagers in an oil palm plantation at Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir, Pekan, yesterday.
The remains of Siti Masyitah Ibrahim, who had been missing since Jan 30, were in a shocking condition as she had been decapitated and some of her internal organs removed.
The girl’s parents – Ibrahim Ali, 39 and Zaleha Abdullah, 35 – were immediately informed of the 5pm discovery, and they rushed to the scene to positively identify their missing daughter.
“It broke my heart to see the mutilated body of my daughter. Her hands and legs were tied, and her head was separated from her body. Some internal organs were missing.
“We searched for her in the same area eleven days ago, but she was not there,” Zaleha said.
The grieving mother revealed that although the body was badly mangled, she was able to make a positive identification based on the blue dress which Siti Masyitah was wearing the day she disappeared.
At 5pm on Jan 30, Zaleha said that her daughter had asked her for RM1 so that she could purchase something at a shop, and promised to return home as soon as possible.
“She said she would return home early. That was the last time I saw her.
“I lodged a police report at the Pekan police station on the same day.
“With the help of villagers, we also mounted a search around the village every day for the past eleven days.
“I prayed for her return… (so) it broke my heart to see her mutilated body yesterday. Who is the heartless person who did this to my child?” she asked.
Siti Masyitah, the third of four siblings, was described as a jovial girl.
“Why did they kill her? What did she do to deserve such cruelty? What was her sin?” Zaleha asked.
Meanwhile, villager Mohd Rosli Mat Rasat, 38, said he was among the first to arrive at the site after being told by a friend that Siti Masyitah’s body had been discovered.
“(Over the past eleven days), we looked for her all over the village, as well as at the site where she was found.
“I suspect she was killed elsewhere and dumped in the oil palm plantation,” he said, adding that nothing like this had ever happened in the village.
Mohd Rosli said that the Forensics Division of the State Police Contingent arrived at the location at 8pm, and the body was later sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) for further action.
Pekan police chief Superintendent Amran Sidek confirmed the discovery of the body when contacted.

The body of an 11-year-old girl was found on Saturday (Feb 9), more than a week after she went missing in Malaysia's Pahang state.
Malaysian media reports said the mutilated body of Siti Masyitah Ibrahim was found with her limbs tied up at an oil palm plantation in Tanjung Medang Hilir, Pekan.
She had been reported missing on Jan 30, Chinese-language newspaper Sin Chew Daily reported.
Pekan police chief superintendent Amran Sidek confirmed the discovery of the body when contacted, the New Straits Times (NST) said.
Her parents, Mr Ibrahim Ali, 39 and Ms Zaleha Abdullah, 35, managed to identify their daughter by the blue dress she had been wearing the day she disappeared, reported NST.
"It broke my heart to see the mutilated body of my daughter... We searched for her in the same area 11 days ago, but she was not there," the grieving mother told NST.
The plantation is about 3km from the family's home and police did not find any murder weapon there, Sin Chew said.
While several local news sources have said the body was found with internal organs missing, police have dismissed the claim.
Pahang police chief Mohd Zakaria Ahmad told Malaysiakini that the body found by locals was intact, pending confirmation from the post-mortem.
He also dismissed claims that the body was found with hands and legs tied up, and added that police have yet to ascertain whether the remains belong to Siti Masyitah Ibrahim.
Ms Zaleha, who has three other children, told Malaysian media that her daughter had asked for RM1 (S$0.33) at about 5pm on the day she went missing so she could buy something at a shop.
The girl, described by her mother as a jovial child, had promised to return home swiftly.
"Who would so cruelly kill my daughter? How could someone murder a little girl? What did she do wrong?" Ms Zaleha said to Sin Chew.
Local villager Mohd Rosli Mat Rasat, 38, said he was among the first to arrive at the site after being told by a friend that Siti Masyitah's body had been discovered.
"(Over the past eleven days), we looked for her all over the village, as well as at the site where she was found.
"I suspect she was killed elsewhere and dumped in the oil palm plantation," he told NST, adding that nothing like this had ever happened in the village.
The girl's body is now at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital awaiting autopsy to determine the cause of death, police told Sin Chew.

PEKAN: Prior to her disappearance on Jan 30, Siti Masyitah Ibrahim, 11, was spotted riding pillion on a motorcycle with a man in Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir, near here.
Later the same day, police picked up the man, a foreigner, to facilitate investigations into the missing girl's case.
District police chief Superintendent Amran Sidek said the suspect, who is currently serving a 14-day remand order, was believed to be the last person spotted with the missing girl.
“The victim was last seen riding a motorcycle with the man on Jan 30. We have detained him for questioning and he is remanded under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for failing to provide any valid travel documents,” he said in a statement today.
It is learnt that the suspect is a family friend.
Amran however was reluctant to confirm if the decomposed body found at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir about 5pm on Saturday was Siti Masyitah’s, saying that police will wait for the post-mortem report before commenting on the matter.
“We will wait for the post-mortem and DNA results to confirm the victim’s identity. The post-mortem will be conducted at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital at 10am tomorrow (Monday).
“A detailed report on the case including the cause of death, gender, along with other details will be known after the procedures are conducted tomorrow,” he said, adding that for now, the case has been classified as sudden death.
Amran said on Jan 30, a Cambodian woman had lodged a police report at the district police station that her daughter Siti Masyitah had failed to return home.
On Saturday, a tied-up, mutilated body of an 11-year-old girl had been identified as Siti Masyitah by her parents in an oil palm plantation at Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir here. They alleged that some of her internal organs were missing.
The victim's mother Zaleha Abdullah, 35, said although her daughter’s body was decomposed, she was able to identify the blue dress which Siti Masyitah was wearing on the day she went missing.
