12月22日11点半左右，洋县拍鸟爱好者邹义超与同行朋友正在马畅湑水河边拍反嘴鹬。忽然听到天空传来尖锐的“嗖、嗖”声，大家把目光聚向了天空，发现有四五只朱鹮正在四散逃离，而它们的背后飞来了一只黑色的影子。
有眼尖的拍鸟爱好者一眼认出，那只黑影正是一只游隼。只见游隼瞅准其中的一只朱鹮，一直追击，还不时地亮出自己的利爪去攻击朱鹮。
这只朱鹮面对身材比自己“还要小一头”的猎手，也只有哀叫着被动逃跑的份，丝毫没有“还手之力”。被游隼攻击了几回后，朱鹮渐渐地飞落到了对面的河床之上，游隼随之也尾追了下去。两只鸟都消失在了大家的视线之外。整个过程持续了约一分钟左右。
据朱鹮爱鸟协会会长华英介绍，游隼捕猎朱鹮等鸟类是自然界的常态，这就是一种生态平衡的食物链。朱鹮作为一种惰性鸟，在自然界生存就必须接受这样的“优胜劣汰”的考验，才能保证种群自然繁衍的能力。这种自然法则人类是不能过分干预的。游隼是自然界顶级捕食者，是世界上飞得最快的鸟，俯冲时速可达300多公里。它是国家二级保护动物，被列入《世界自然保护联盟》2012年濒危物种红色名录。

Suddenly I heard a sharp "嗖, 嗖" sound coming from the sky. Everyone focused their eyes on the sky and found that four or five Zhu Xi were scattered and fled, and a black shadow flew behind them.
The sharp-eyed bird-lovers recognized the black shadow as a peregrine falcon. I saw one of You Zhun Zhu Zhu's chasing, and from time to time she showed her sharp claws to attack Zhu Xi.
This Zhu Xi faced the hunter who was "smaller" than himself, and only screamed passively to escape. He had no "power to fight back". After being attacked a few times by Peregrine Falcon, Zhu Xi gradually landed on the opposite river bed, and Peregrine Falcon also followed. Both birds disappeared out of sight. The whole process lasted about one minute.
