Even though Thailand is a de facto military dictatorship, it still has to 'see the face' of the royals. And the Thais have more balls, they can cause civil unrest if you push them too far.

Sinkieland, on the other hand, is a Familee fiefdom. The Speaker is a puppet, the President is a puppet, many positions are filled by scholar-generals and those from the 'labour union'.

It does what it pleases, the debates are a farce, but Loong (with the help of the media) has mastered the art of removing himself from the picture and letting his minions take the heat when implementing potentially unpopular policies.
