Finance Ministry asks for public feedback on Budget
AS part of its preparations for Budget 2009, the Finance Ministry has asked for public feedback on matters related to public finance and areas the budget should encompass to address fiscal concerns.
Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said: 'In the current economic climate, it is even more important for us to use our resources wisely and ensure the Budget is allocated towards helping Singaporeans and businesses weather the downturn and to address longer-term economic and social challenges.'
From now until Jan 23, members of the public can provide feedback through the Budget 2009 website (www.singaporebudget.gov.sg) or via SMS (9773 2587). Other feedback channels include a toll-free line (1800 226 0806) and fax (6332 7435).
Feedback can also be mailed to the Ministry of Finance, 100 High Street, #10-01, The Treasury, Singapore 179434.
In addition, dialogue sessions will be organised from November to January, with the first of these on Nov 12.
