A two-year-old Chinese girl in has been left fighting for her life after she was brutally assaulted by her mother’s lover, according to Chinese media.
The toddler from Luoyang, Henan province, has been in a coma for more than two weeks after the assault and is still in critical condition, having suffered multiple injuries including brain damage, China News Service reported.
The girl’s mother said she was afraid to stop her lover from beating her daughter and that it was not the first time the child had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
Police have arrested the mother and her lover; investigation is ongoing.
