She was just 18, but she made her 16-year-old housemate sell her body for money.
The girl would find clients for the younger teen and then take all her earnings.
For living off the earnings of the minor and getting male clients for her, the woman, now 20, was yesterday sentenced to 24 months of probation and 130 hours of community service.
Her mother was also ordered to sign a bond of $5,000 to ensure her good behaviour.
The woman cannot be named due to the gag order on details identifying the victim.
She faced a total of five charges, three of which were taken into consideration during sentencing.
A district court heard that the duo met through mutual friends in 2011 and became close. The minor later moved into the other girl's home.
The New Paper understands that they are friends who became acquainted through lion dance activities.

They then started working at several pubs on an ad hoc basis, where they accompanied customers for drinks in return for tips and commission.
When the younger girl ran into financial trouble early last year, the older teen suggested she prostitute herself at Geylang, charging $50 for 1½ hours with another $10 for renting a room in a nearby lodging house.
The older teen then approached men and offered them her friend's services.
Between mid-January and mid-May last year, the underage prostitute had sex with 10 to 15 customers.
She then handed all the money collected - about $750 - to the older girl, who used the money to buy food, cigarettes, cosmetics and clothing for both of them.
The underage prostitute was later arrested for theft.
Investigations then showed she had been prostituting herself illegally, which led to the older woman's arrest.
So far, none of the minor's customers have been arrested or dealt with.
