Matthew and Gigi

Singer and actress Gigi Leung is rumoured to be dating a foreign diplomat. According to Hong Kong media, her new boyfriend is Dolbow Matthew Steven, a consul for the US Consulate General in Hong Kong. His friends call him 'Matthew'.

The new romance began just several months after Gigi announced her split with her French boyfriend of four years.

It was reported that Gigi and the consul fell in love quickly after they were introduced to each other by friends. But the couple has kept their relationship low profile.

Gigi is spotted dating Matthew in Hong Kong

On Friday, Gigi was spotted having coffee with Matthew, and another female friend. After about 30 minutes, the friend left, giving the lovebirds some space together. Later, Gigi and Matthew left the shop but walked closer and closer together on the streets.

When asked by reporters, Gigi said the man is just a friend.
Gigi's love path has never been smooth. She was criticised for breaking her former boyfriend Ekin Cheng's previous relationship with TVB actress Maggie Siu in 1999.

She and Ekin split seven years later after she failed to force him to marry her. Then this year, she announced the break-up with her French boyfriend Sly and it was rumoured that the reason was that her mother disapproved of having a foreigner as a son-in-law.
