Giant security firm Certis Cisco now unionized

More than 6,000 employees of Certis CISCO Security will be eligible for union membership, with immediate effect.

This follows a memorandum of understanding between the security firm and the Union of Security Employees (USE).

The eligible employees represent 60 per cent of Certis' workforce.

As part of the MOU, a union-management selected committee will be set up to promote the welfare and well-being of Certis CISCO staff who become members of the union.

This will complement the existing process for handling grievances.

The committee will be supported by an Industrial Relations Officer of USE.

"USE" is even more useless than NTUC. it's pretty much upheld by what? a MOM that sleep on the job, and MHA who force their employees and so-called "civil servants"/running dogs to work unlimted OT without pay!

last time i heard, people are still leaving certis because of pay issues, like no bonus if take even 1 day MC, and most of them never ever seeing their joining bonus(up to 10K SGD joining bonus?).

and the really outrageously stupid pattern of certis employees jumping ship to aetos after pay dispute, and aetos employees doing jumping ship to certis for exactly the same reason!

maybe waste time but certis has been cheating it employees since hitler was a corporal. cpf board has target them many time for not contributing employer share of cpf. IF u ever see a certis issue payslip, u confirm cannot understand how certis payroll dept come out with the take home amount and cpf constribution. A SO maybe taking home $3500 inclusive of OT but the cpf contribution can be base on the low basic of $1500. Because of the sheer number of malays, certis pay bi-weekly salary instead of the norm of month end.

Unions for real private companies are weak but unions for ex stats board enterprises are a different type of fish. They can be real agreesive and normally has backing of perm sec or mp.

keep your hair on. there plenty of unions BUT ALL must be under the flag of CUNT. there the teachers union, healthcare union, etc etc... all of them come under zorro lim. dont vent your anger of lky on me. ppl out there may not be protected by their unions but that do no apply to everyone. Ask around, especially friends or relatives who work in GLC or ex stat board or hospitals HR dept, they can tell you how unions leaders bang table for more $$ in every year salary review. To most of us, the NWC is a big wayang but those who work under civil services, stat boards, GLCs, it is a big deal, it determine how much they can get.

many malays kenna conned by the greed to get more take home cash and forsake the cpf. that very stupid as they in turn need to top up cash for their hdb loan, which in turn lppl as whatever extra cash they get are use to pay hdb in cash while they lose out the employer cpf contribution.

every month sure got ppl complain MOM about certis bad treatment or unjust deduction of salary. certis also kenna haul up for having its employees work beyond the legal working hours in a week. It a horrible place to work in, no sure who the ceo now but the coo is a ex chief of guards bg. he basically call the shot and his meeting machiam like saf and everyone will be address by their ex saf rank. certis maybe doing mata work but most of its senior staffs were ex saf with only a couple seconded from spf.
