On the night of Wednesday to Thursday in Munich, Bavaria, a group of six attacked a thirty-year-old Mexican who was recognizable as a Jew because of his head covering. The group of six consisted of people between the ages of 20 and 29 and came from various Arab and African countries. According to the Bavarian police, two women and four men initially insulted the man with anti-Semitic insults.
According to the police, this insult then developed into a mob that ended in a mutual physical altercation, the exact course of which is the subject of further investigations. According to the information that is now known, the Mexican national was ultimately brought to the ground by the group, where several people from the group kicked him, even when the man was long on the ground.

He was slightly injured and taken to hospital for outpatient treatment. Two people from the group of six - a man and a woman - were also believed to have been slightly injured by the Mexican and were treated on site by the emergency services who were called. Those involved are said to have been drunk at the time of the crime.
According to police information, the accused from the six-member group come from Germany, Eritrea and Syria. One of those involved is said to have Yemeni nationality. Those involved in the group of six are now being investigated for grievous bodily harm; against the 30-year-old Mexican national for intentional bodily harm.
Another case of anti-Semitic violence
Given the circumstances of the crime, the police suspect that the insults and violent acts from the group have an anti-Semitic background. This would make the case part of a series of attacks on people who are identifiable as being of Jewish faith. In July, for example, in Frankfurt am Main, a group of five young people attacked a group of Jewish visitors from the USA at the Jewish monument while shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
In view of the obvious anti-Semitic motives in this attack, the anti-Semitism commissioner of the Bavarian judiciary, senior public prosecutor Andreas Franck, who is based at the Munich public prosecutor's office, took over the investigation and took over the investigation.
