Twelve people have been killed after a Polish tourist bus hit a car and crashed into a bridge in Germany.
Dozens of others were injured - seven critically - in the accident at the Schoenefelder Kreuz A10 motorway junction east of Berlin, a fire brigade spokesman said. The coach was forced from the road by a car merging into traffic, police said. More than 200 members of the emergency services are at the scene.
The bus collided with a bridge and a car on the motorway
Police chief Arne Feuring said authorities believe the bus was carrying 49 Poles of all ages on their way home from a holiday in Spain. The 37-year-old woman driver of the car was among the critically injured. An investigation into the accident has been launched. German officials said they were organising an information point for Polish relatives of the victims. Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk is to travel to the scene, a government spokesman said.
