Gems robber not so lucky the second time
KUANTAN: A man who robbed a goldsmith’s shop of RM20,000 worth of jewellery, was not so lucky in his second attempt at another shop when he was arrested while trying to flee.
The 39-year-old suspect had gone to the first shop in in Jalan Tun Razak, Raub, at 2.30pm last Friay, pretending to be a buyer, Asst Supt Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said.
He robbed the 75-year-old goldsmith and escaped on a motorcycle. The suspect then went to another shop in Kuala Lipis at 3.45pm the same day and tried to rob the owners.
“The shop owner, his wife and assistant screamed and attracted the attention of policemen patrolling the area. The suspect was caught and all the stolen items were recovered.
