1) LHL on TV say garment in power has right to choose which ward's HDB to upgrade, even if it is using tax's payer common funds;

2) Appoint Adviser to run Grass Roots Organisations organised by People's Assocaition Community Center arm, funded by tax's payers funds, even in Opposition Ward where the residents have elected opposition candidate to run ward;

3) No proper room for opposition to do Meet-the-People sessions?!?!?!

Seems qite disturbing to me.
In a war, a soldier kills an enemy soldier, I think it's fair as both signed up for it.
But to attack civilians is wrong.

In an political election, you attack and subsequently bankrupt an opposing candidate, i thinks is fair, as both signed up for it.
But to penalise the tax payers in the ward who elected opposition candidate, i think that can't be right.

If not, garment in power send a retard candidate also must vote for him just to avoid repercussions on life in ward, seems repressed leh.
Thot only in a dictatorship country do this...

Not sure if above is true. Any bros care to comment?

Election is not just merely to select a gahment in every 5 years, it is put forward a referenum or mandate on issues to citizens on gahment polices.

Election can be held anytime and people choice to agree or disagree with the PM. Election is a programme and take 2 weeks to complete, no big deal. Election is like company wishing to expand their business plan and go to the public known as IPO, agree?

Not like all previous elections which wayang about hiring CEO-pay type ministers, and whinging about their 'past records', and want you to 'repent', and say sorry about your failures, and nothing much! Election is about getting citizens approval to vote for policies which affect their futures but not whinging about the past.

Does the building of Casinos seek the citizens mandate to go ahead with going to the poll? Or just leave it to a bunch of so called CEO ministers greedy to make dirty money?

Take a look at the AUstralia now with the Oppo tellingLaour to call an election http://www.smh.com.au/business/fede...-on-the-hill-through-ming-20110512-1ekt8.html

Mr Abbott demanded the government call an electionbecause its broken carbon tax promise had rendered it illegitimate and the country threatened to ''slide into a morass of indecision and paralysis''. ''The government lacks legitimacy, not because it lacks a majority but because it lacks integrity,'' he said. ''That's what Australia needs - not a carbon tax but an election.''

So does LHL broke his election promises and threatened the people and lack integrity? Something to think about?

when u r the banker at the table, u can call your own shots, u can determine how much is the minimum bet, how much r the odds etc. while in our local context, the banker also likes to change the rules of the games, just before he says "no more bets"

Well then it is up to the opposition MPs to bring out the issue to the public and see if they agree.

I think most Singaporeans are damn sick of all this withholding of funds to opposition wards. Let them continue doing that and next time another 2 GRCs gone. On one side keep talking about one Singapore, service to nation and on the other side divide Singapore.

After all many Singaporeans have uncles, brothers, parents, grandparents living in opposition wards.

I think the fear is gone. By next election 40% of voters know no fear.

Election is only a few days. Hard to bring out too many topics. But these topics can now be brought up in Parliament, discussed on social media etc.

They restrict public talk to speakers corner but nothing they can do about social media and facebook. And some policies are impossible to defend in a public debate:

1) Why minister's pay must be so much when it is not so in HK, USA, UK, Germany, Swiss, France, etc etc
2) Tax comes from all citizens so why withold $$ to opposition wards - fair or not
3) Family members running GLCs - why?
4) How many PRs and how many Singapore citizens - this need not be top secret

Just this 4 issue can be up for debate and most Singaporeans will not find it a big issue to get the answer.

Totally agree with u.

Thought will only see this in HK triad movies where gangster collect protection $ but still bully citizens, simply because they are in power. :-)
