If you're talking about AAA games, of course these martial art combat moves work. Lots of money spent on hiring genuine martial artists, ex-military special forces, ex-FBI agents, ex-CIA operatives, etc for consultation in making AAA games (with overall budgets of hundreds of millions of dollars, no less than AAA Hollywood movies).
