Virus is contagious before any symptoms. That is why mask is necessary.

It took CDC in USA to break the news. Singapore gahmen has kept quiet all these times. We need them to come clean. What else they are not sharing? How many school children are already inflicted with the virus?

All the more reason why masks are absolutely useless because it means the virus is already out there in the population and the best option is herd immunity which was what some governments planned to do before they chickened out instead of standing firm.

Just carry on with life and stop worrying about a harmless virus.

"Inflicted" makes it sound as if they have come to some harm but in reality most don't have any symptoms whatsoever. When it comes to those under 20 the virus is even less dangerous than seasonal flu.

Stop worrying so much all you're doing is stressing yourself out and stress is a lot more dangerous than the coronavirus.

Then if someone cough or sneeze in front of you, try not to cover your nose or mouth. Can? Since it won't make any difference whether you wear or not.

If someone coughs or sneezes in front of me the most important thing to cover is the eyes because the tear duct drains directly to the nasal cavity.

If all you have is a mask on you're dead meat anyway unless you're also wearing proper goggles.

All this talk about masks is great in theory but in practice it just makes matters worse unless you do everything properly. There is a huge difference between theory and practice.

The guy in this picture has got it right (proper goggles and K94 mask) provided he handles and stores his mask properly and the mask fits in the first place.

If everyone in Singapore was walking around with the same protection as he has I'd day the mask + goggles were doing an excellent job of keeping everyone safe.

However if all you have is a dirty, contaminated surgical mask I suggest you just throw it away. It's increasing the risk not reducing it.

So it was not wrong to wear mask. The authority just overlooked to issue free goggles. Every member in WHO should be fired!

LONDON: A 13-year-old British boy has died days after testing positive for COVID-19, hospital officials and his family said on Tuesday (Mar 31), with relatives saying he had no underlying illnesses.

The boy, who died Monday at King's College Hospital in London, is believed to be Britain's youngest confirmed death in the coronavirus pandemic.

A 12-year-old girl, whose death was confirmed earlier on Tuesday in Belgium, is thought to be Europe's youngest victim.

The boy's family said Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab "started showing symptoms and had difficulties breathing" before he was admitted to hospital.

"He was put on a ventilator and then put into an induced coma but sadly died yesterday morning," the family said through a family friend, Mark Stephenson, adding: "We are beyond devastated."

Nathalie MacDermott, a lecturer at King's College, said: "While we know it is much less likely for children to suffer severe COVID-19 infection than older adults, this case highlights the importance of us all taking the precautions we can to reduce the spread of infection in the UK and worldwide."

She urged research into deaths outside the groups expected to succumb to infection as it "may indicate an underlying genetic susceptibility."

On Tuesday, Britain announced 381 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the highest figure in the country since the start of the pandemic, bringing the death toll to 1,789.

Wear mask by all means IF it is worn and handled properly.... no touching the mask with dirty hands, no pulling it down in order to have lunch, no scratching of nose under the mask with contaminated fingers, no rubbing of eyes, no stuffing mask into the same dirty pocket you put your wallet in.

AND.... protect your eyes too. Wearing a mask without goggles is like locking the windows of the house but leaving the front door wide open.

Seasonal flu is far more deadly for the younger victims.

That's the problem with the media these days. Nothing in put in the correct perspective. It's just click bait.

Nearly every state in the U.S. reported high concentrations of flu-like illnesses for the week ending Feb. 8, 2020.
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
At a Glance

  • Two strains of flu have hit children and young adults especially hard.
  • Experts say the the numbers could continue to increase.
The number of pediatric deaths from influenza is higher at this point in the flu season than it has been in a decade as a second wave of the virus picked up steam in recent weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The latest weekly flu report from the CDC shows that 92 children had died from the influenza virus in the United States as of Feb. 8, or Week 6 of the official flu season.

That's the highest number by week since the severe flu season of 2009-10, when 262 children had died by this point in the season, according to CDC statistics.

Fake news. Same as killing of school children in US... crisis actors used...
