Goh Meng Seng is in Hong Kong now and requested me to assist him post this one. He has resigned from the NSP CEC due to his busy work abroad.

This is just so that no misunderstanding arises from forummers mistakenly assume that he's still with the NSP CEC.

I believe you need to clarify that he is still with the NSP as a party member.

click on the GO ADVANCED key. title table appears. amend and edit. click SAVE. title will show new wordings.:)

Mr Sebastian Teo

Mr Sebastian Teo is the Chief Consultant/ Executive Director of Knight Royal Management International Pte Ltd. He was previously the General Manager of a British MNC in Taipei and also the GM of a main board listed company’s subsidiary in China.

He is also the current President of the NUS Business School Alumni committee and an Advisor to the non-governmental organisation Think Centre.

He believes in a society for all encompassing a multi-party parliamentary democracy system to allow for checks and balances. He also campaigns to have national interests placed above party interests, and promotes the belief that Singaporeans should not be denied their constitutional rights.

He is adament that in the implementation of government policies, due consideration must be paid to the interest of the people, particularly the less able group. He feels strongly that national resources should be shared fairly in each and every constituency.

He contested in General Election 2006 in the Jalan Besar GRC, garnering a commendable 30.74% of the vote.

Mr Reno Fong

Fong Chin Leong is the Engineer/ Director of a local company.

He holds a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic, and a Bachelor in Engineering Management from the University of Western Sydney (UWS).

He joined the party in 1995, and has been the Assistant Secretary General since 2001. He is also actively involved in the various sub-committees of the party.

Mr Fong contested in General Elections in Jalan Besar GRC in 2001 and 2006, garnering 25.51% and 30.74% of the vote respectively.

Mr Fong staunchly believes that Singapore needs a multi-party parliamentary system to curb the high-handedness of the government, as well as to pave the way to a truly democratic society beneficial to all Singaporean.

Mr Ivan Yeo

Mr Ivan Yeo graduated from Nanyang University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has amassed a wealth of working experience in both the public (in the Ministry of Transport) and private sectors. He is currently running his own business as the Executive Director of a few local and overseas companies.

Ivan joined the NSP in 1995 and had served as our Vice President from 1998 to 2000. He is currently one of the editors of the NSP Publication North Star News.

Assistant Treasurer
Mr Steve Chia

Mr Steve Chia joined politics a year after he graduated from NUS in 1995. He was the former President of the NUSSU, and was instrumental in setting up the NUS Students Fund, to care for the needy students in NUS.

He stood in the 1996/97 General Election in the Hong Kah GRC as the youngest candidate then. And at the Nov 2001 General Election, he stood in the Choa Chu Kang SMC against long-time PAP incumbent Professor Low.

Mr Chia secured 34.6% of the valid votes, and was the best scorer among the losing opposition candidates. As there were less than 3 opposition MPs elected, Mr Chia was gazatted by law to become the NCMP in the 10th session of the Singapore Parliament.

He contested in General Election 2006 in the Choa Chu Kang SMC, winning the heart of 39.63% of the voters.

Mr Raymond is the workhorse of the Party.

Mr Elvin Ong Beng Soon

Mr Elvin graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering. He is currently a Industrial Trader / Director in a partnership company.

He volunteered his service in the meet-the-people session in Potong Pasir Constituency(2003-2006). During that time, he met and got to know the residents in the town and had since built a friendly relationship with them. He also learned and discovered the life of the residents and served them faithfully.

He strongly believes that everyone can be actively involved and concern in Singapore's politics, especially the younger generation. Being the leaders for the next generation, we must contribute our best to build a democratic and strong nation in the front line.

He who is one of the youngest candidates contested in General Election 2006 in the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, winning 31.30% of the vote.

Mr Yip Yew Weng

Mr Yip joined the Party in 1992, and was instrumental in helping the Party to set up our propaganda magazine. He was the former chief editor in the old channel 8, before he decided to take his plunge into politics. He currently one the editor for Chinese section of NSP Publication, North Star News.

Mr Yip held the position of Secretary General from 1992 until he took over the role of President in 1999.

He contested in General Election 2006 in the created-out-of-the-blue Yio Chu Kang SMC, ripping 31.72% of the vote away from the incumbent PAP opponent.

Mr Goh contested in General Election 2006 in the Aljunied GRC, garnering a thunderous 43.91% of the vote.

Mr Cheo Chai Chen

Mr Cheo graduated at Nanyang University in the Department of Government and Public Administration.

Cheo joined NSP in 2006. Currently, he is the NSP Central Council member and NSP Funds Riasing Committee member. In the 1991 GE, he was elected a Member of Parliament for Nee Soon Central. During his term of MP, he was also the Chairman of Nee Soon Central Town Council.

Cheo believes that a nation will deteriorate when there is a one-party rule, as it will lead to dictatorship and decadence due to its lack of transparency in the over-concentration of government power. He contents that the ruling party's implementation of the GRC is to let it have advantages in elections over its rivals. He says that it resulted in the smaller political parties or independents facing more difficulties and it deprived voters their chances to vote.

Cheo is very concerned about the situation of rising costs of living and the unemployment issues, especially for the middle and old aged.

In 2006, he contested in Jalan Besar GRC under the flag of the Singapore Democratic Alliance.

Mr Ong is currently a business consultant in an MNC company. He contested in General Election 2006 in the Tampines GRC, garnering 31.49% of the vote.
