Singapore Citizens : 3.2million
Foreigners : 1.8million
Labour Force Make up
Singapore Citizens : 3.2million of which 50% are in the Working Force (excluding Old Folks and Children) = 1.6million
FT in Sigapore : 1.8 million of which 90% are actually in the Working Force (excluding a VERY small percentage of non working Foreigners say 10%) = 1.62million
From the above extrapolation it is very very clear that out of a total working population of 3.22million only 49.7% of working population are real Singaporeans....
The Foreign Population working in Singapore EXCEED the Singapore Citizens.
CONCLUSION: labour Force Make Up : Foreigners 50.3%
Singaporean =49.7%
AND NOT AS CLAIMED TO BE 35 %

I don't think the idea behind race classification was discrimination. It is likely a by-product of the classification itself. If you want to maintain population demographics, for example, maintain the 75% Chinese majority, it would be impossible to do so without race classification. So it goes for maintaining HDB ethnic quotas. How else can HDB tell when a particular quota has been exceeded by a certain race if race classification is non-existent?
