France, a nation where you have a several hundred doctors on night patrol and on call where they provide free medical attention is out of recession.

France where medical care is completely free and universal is out of recession.

France, the nation that cares for it's people by providing swtate financed au paire services for single mothers and busy parents who have children, is out of recession.

France, the country that has high unemployment benefits and somewhat reasonable taxes where the average mean income is around 36,000 Euros per annum and tax for that bracket is 14% and if one earns slightly below 70K euros then the 40% tax rate kicks in, is out of recession.

France, the country that is not afraid to say it as it is and does not molly coddle is out of recession.

France a nation that believes in faternity, equality and liberty is out of recession.

Finally, France, the nation that does not sell out its own people for cheap foreign labour, is out of recession.

Because, in general, countries that do not persecute marchers are prosperous or are improving from their previous state of affairs, and those that do are declining.

Because Gandhi marched, Mandela marched, Martin Luther King marched, and even PAP founders marched.

Because more and more people realize that peaceful assemblies are no threat at all to the security of the nation, although they are a threat to the security of tenure of the ruling elite.

Because politicians do not mean it when they say with a straight face or a smile that they are the servants and that the people are the masters.No servant would treat his master with tear gas, batons and handcuffs and bankruptcy.


Because if the marchers in history had been stopped in their tracks, places like India, Malaysia,Singapore and many others would still be colonies today, apartheid would still be thriving in South Africa, Nelson Mandela would still be scribbling on the walls of Cell 5, and Obama would probably be a slave somewhere in Mississippi plotting to make his next midnight dash for the river.

I agree with all that you have said. But the gist of the matter here is that this is a country that favours businesses and money.

here, no matter who is master or servant, the popel will always think that the PAP is infallible. While most other countries distrust their govts and would never allow their govts to decide for them, here itthe total opposite.

Despite not wanting to be called nannies, the PAP continues to nanny and restrict and persecute.

That's why France, where their PM is by the PAP's benchmark - mediocre. is able to come up with fiscal policies to counter the downturn which in turn showed real growth and recovery. Not some massaged figures, while most of the industries remain in the doldrums.

What has that got to do with anything. It's good to ban non conformist dressings that foul France's nature of being a free society.

Headscarves, by the way are not ilegal, on the burqa is. Since according to Mr. Sarkozy, it only seeks to limit women's freedom and act as a tool of oppression which is truly the main function of the burqa.

It could also be seen as an encroachment of French norms hence unacceptable. If one wants to wear such things then one should just return to where they have come from. No need to molly coddle immigrants who do not want to conform.

I'm sure if you see a PRC doing what is not socially acceptable in Sg, you'd chide him would you not?
