In the Mulhouse court, a 47-year-old man was tried on Thursday for habitual violence, kidnapping and sexual assault against his wife, a young Moroccan who came to join him in the Cité du Bollwerk at the end of 2021. Sanction: four years in prison, including two accompanied by a probationary reprieve.
In pre-trial detention since his arrest in April 2022, a 47-year-old man appeared Thursday July 6 at the Mulhouse Criminal Court for habitual violence by spouse, kidnapping and sexual assault by spouse, the latter offense targeting acts of rape reclassified as such in agreement with the civil party.
The defendant, originally from Morocco and based in Mulhouse, met the victim, Yasmina (*), a Moroccan in her twenties, via Facebook. They got married in Morocco and the young woman came to join the forties in France in mid-December 2021, relates Tiffany Gamain, the president of the hearing.
According to Yasmina’s account, the violence began the day she arrived in France, because her husband reproached her for not being dressed in a djellaba.
