Four robbery suspects arrested
SINGAPORE: Police have arrested four men, aged 16 to 19, who are suspected to be involved in a robbery at Woodlands Circle.
On September 8 at about 1am, a 41-year-old man was at the void deck of a block in the vicinity of Woodlands Circle when three unknown men approached him from behind.
They assaulted him before fleeing with his wallet and mobile phone.
Officers from Jurong Police Division soon established the identity of the suspects.
At 8.30am on Friday, the officers arrested one of the suspects near Marsiling MRT during an ambush operation.
The remaining three suspects were also arrested later on Friday.
Three of the suspects will be charged in court on Saturday with robbery.
If convicted, they can be jailed for three to 14 years, and given at least 12 strokes of the cane.
Investigations against the remaining suspect are ongoing. - CNA/ms
