SINGAPORE - Three women and a man, aged between 26 and 43, were arrested for suspected involvement in a series of theft cases at shopping malls located along Telok Blangah Road and Orchard Road.
On Nov 10, a person's wallet was stolen at a shopping mall along Telok Blangah Road and the debit card was misused.
Police managed to establish that the culprits had acted in a group of four, with two of them acting as the look-outs while the other two committed the theft.
The group was found to have targeted ladies who had left their handbags unzipped, exposing valuables such as mobile phones and wallets.
Around 8pm on Dec 1, police officers raided a hotel located in Rochor area and arrested the four suspects.
A total of 21 mobile phones were seized.
The four suspects will be charged for offence of theft with common intention. If guilty, offenders may be jailed for up to 3 years or fined or receive both punishments.
